Amanda George is a Consultant at Sterling Associates. She joined the firm in 2016, bringing a diverse professional background that includes both nonprofit and corporate experience.
Amanda began her career as a Pre-K and 4th grade elementary school teacher with Teach For America and subsequently served in several leadership positions in TFA’s Houston region, including Chief of Staff and Senior Managing Director of Development and Operations.
She has a successful record of leading large teams, running regional operations, managing boards of directors, setting and executing a strategic direction, and managing a development office. Amanda has also worked as a Site Manager with The New Teacher Project (TNTP) where she managed key projects for a large scale talent initiative in two major urban school districts. In addition to her nonprofit work, Amanda spent time as a consultant for Accenture where she primarily focused on change management efforts for a Fortune 500 technology company.
Amanda earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Emory University and is the President of Emory’s Houston Alumni Chapter. Outside of work, she enjoys running, yoga, and spending time outdoors with her son and her dog, supporting her husband who is a competitive cyclist.
